🗓️ This Week at Easley | 9/7- 9/11🗓️
SDPC is beginning the search for our next superintendent.
Following 13 years of leadership, Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck will conclude his service at the end of the 2026–2027 school year. With advance planning, the Board of Trustees is beginning the search process now to support a thoughtful and seamless transition.
The search will be guided by our Innovate ’28 Strategic Plan and shaped by input from the people who know and care about SDPC — our students, employees, families, and Pickens County community.
🗣️ Your voice matters.
The Board of Trustees, in partnership with the South Carolina School Boards Association, is gathering community input to help identify the qualities, experience, and leadership priorities that should guide the search for SDPC’s next superintendent.
The first opportunity to share your input:
📅 Tuesday, September 29, 2026
📍 Liberty High School (124 Red Devil Drive, Liberty, SC 29657)
⏰ 6:00 PM
Additional opportunities for community input will be announced as the search progresses.

Our two positive referral shoutouts this week go to Trey Bryant and Jameire Davenport. Both of these gentlemen were recognized by their teachers for their respect and kindess to their classmates and their willingness to help without being asked. Congratulations, Trey and Jameire!
We're going to try this one more time! In all of our excitement to shoutout these students, we realized we didn't include them all -- and they each deserve to be recognized. We are very sorry for posting too quickly yesterday!
We are proud of all of our students who choose to take on AP courses during their time in high school because of the level of rigor involved in the course and the culminating exam, but to get a top score of a 5 on an AP exam is quite a feat!

We will be continuing our weekly recognition of students who have received a positive referral from a faculty or staff member. Starting a new school year can be stressful, but these two students hit the ground running and were recognized for their focus, great attitudes, and willingness to learn. Keep it up!

LAST CALL: PSAT forms are due TOMORROW to the main office! Late forms will not be accepted!
From marshmallow science labs, to growth mindset, to solving mysteries, day 2 at EHS was filled with collaboration and hands-on learning.
This is a reminder that any students who wish to take the PSAT need to return forms to the main office by Friday, August 7th! If you need a form, they are also located in the main office.
What a great first day we have had! The Class of 2030 gathered today to learn more about how to be successful here at EHS. 💚
We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Here is our bell schedule for the 2026 - 2027 school year. Tomorrow will be an A Day.
