Students who meet some of these characteristics and are willing to grow toward meeting others:
entering grades 6-8 for the 2026-2027 school year.
seeking a different middle school experience.
want to grow as individual learners.
can work independently for short periods of time without constant supervision.
willing to ask questions when they do not understand.
can follow written directions and navigate a learning management system.
benefit from flexible pacing or a quieter learning environment than a traditional classroom.
show growth when given opportunities for project-based or personalized learning.
demonstrate or are ready to build executive functioning skills like time management, organization, task completion, persistence, goal setting, etc.
can follow a daily schedule with reminders.
use checklists calendars, or planners.
willing to learn from mistakes.
comfortable using technology to create, organize, and learn.
demonstrate personal responsibility.
curious and motivated.
able to communicate needs and set personal goals.
We realize students in grades 6-8 don't have all of these characteristics perfectly mastered. We find students who are willing to grow are those most successful in this program.
